Mocha Raspberry Pretzelwiches {And a $100 Dollar Tree Giveaway!}

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

When Dollar Tree asked me to create a yummy dessert idea using ingredients from their store, I was up for the challenge! Let me tell you, I have really come to love Dollar Tree. Every time I leave there, I have a small rush from how much I have just saved. Is that weird? Probably. But I really am always amazed at what things I can buy for just $1.  And the best news is that I’m giving away a $100 gift card to Dollar Tree at the end of this post.  If I did the math right, that means that one lucky reader can buy 100 things (before tax) from Dollar Tree. That’s a lot of stuff!

Anyway, on to my yummy dessert. I found this recipe from the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club. There are craft projects and recipes that you can make entirely from Dollar Tree stuff! How cool is that? Membership is totally free and new things are being added each month. The layout is so handy because you can easily print out the instructions or recipe to have on hand. I found these Mocha Raspberry Pretzelwiches and thought they looked really unique, so I put my own spin on it by making my own frosting, and made these lovely little sandwich cookies!

Here’s what you will need:

6oz Bag Granny’s Oven Brownie Crisps (or any favorite chocolate wafer cookie)
Lady of Liberty Rasperry Preserves
Benzels Rod Pretzels
Cappuccino Supreme Mocha Packet
12oz. Tub Harvest Hill Vanilla Frosting (optional - if you choose not to make your own)

To make your own buttercream:
½ cup butter
2 Cups Confectioners Sugar
1 Tbs Vanilla
2 Tbs Milk

You can definitely take the easy route and just purchase a tub of vanilla frosting.  I love homemade buttercream, so I chose to make my own.

(Head over to the Value Seekers Club for full instructions on how to make these beauties and you can sign up to receive more yummy recipes and fun crafts as well.)

They are so simple to make yet look so lovely and a little fancy if you ask me.  I love the combo of the chocolate and mocha with the tart raspberries and then a few bursts of salty crunchiness from the pretzels. No one would ever imagine that you made these fancy cookies with ingredients from Dollar Tree! They look like they should come from the local french bakery.

To win the $100 gift card, you must sign up for the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club and then enter in the Rafflecopter Widget below.  (Make sure you use the same email as you did to sign up for the Value Seekers Club so that I can verify that you are eligible to win.) Good luck!!
